I'm easing my way back into fly tying. Not having been fishing very much last year I got into a rut and work took its toll as well so the tying seemed a little pointless.
Then I thought, what the fuck eh? I enjoy tying fleas whether or not the bloody things ever get wet and it has a theraputic effect on me. I like the scruffy little nymph and shrimp effects and as they're pretty easy on technique I've made a point of starting with them. I entered my first fly swap on the CFF since last year's disastrous abortive attempts, something that's weighed heavily on me since, and managed to submit my 13 DBs in record time for me. It's re-ignited my enthusiasm and some of the comments from the lads on the forum have been more than generous. What a cracking bunch of lads!
