Chicken Cam
Today, I set up an IP camera in a school so that every class could watch a clutch of incubating chicken eggs as they hatched. I'm not usually the soppy type but the look on the kids' faces as they were able to view the eggs moving about with the developing chicks inside, projected onto screens throughout the school was quite something! I'll have to undergo a course of gruffness to get me back to normal after this!

Fly Tying 2010
I'm easing my way back into fly tying. Not having been fishing very much last year I got into a rut and work took its toll as well so the tying seemed a little pointless.
Then I thought, what the fuck eh? I enjoy tying fleas whether or not the bloody things ever get wet and it has a theraputic effect on me. I like the scruffy little nymph and shrimp effects and as they're pretty easy on technique I've made a point of starting with them. I entered my first fly swap on the CFF since last year's disastrous abortive attempts, something that's weighed heavily on me since, and managed to submit my 13 DBs in record time for me. It's re-ignited my enthusiasm and some of the comments from the lads on the forum have been more than generous. What a cracking bunch of lads!

Bit the bullet at the weekend and updated my laptop from Vista to Windows 7. To be honest I never had a moment's bother with Vista but couldn't be seen to out of touch. Just for a laugh I added Office 2010 Beta. Again, not a lot of difference to 2007 apart from Outlook......dammit!!! Stuff all over the place again.
The home server's next. Server 2008 to Server 2008R2. So, why bother? Vanity strikes again.
